Justin's Birthday Surprise

Justin turns __ today. We are getting so much closer to 30 each day, which kind of freaks me out. In Justin’s words, “Its time to grow up.” LoL! I thought that was funny to hear from him, but in reality we have been growing up this whole time. Who says we still can’t have fun while making important decisions and growing a family. I hope in the midst of all this growing up we have to do, that we are always reminded to act like a child too. God calls us to that. 3And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3-5

I celebrated Justin’s Birthday last night because the next 5 days are jam packed with stuff to do (All pertaining to him!) I decided to do a little trail of notes from his office to home that was a poem with U2 lyrics in them and to end with his BIG SURPRISE. It was fun creating it, but of course, the genius he is, figured it out on the first note he got. I wanted to take him on a picnic and then give him the surprise, but in our relationship things don’t always go as planned. (I’m so glad we are so flexible!). When he walked in the door he was already saying, “Did you get me U2 tickets? Did you get me U2 tickets?” He was going through the apt looking for them! HEHE! When we got in the car to go on our picnic he was still asking for those darn tickets. Can’t you wait buddy? That’s what I was thinking, but I couldn’t wait any longer. U2 tickets it IS!!!! I handed him the little envelope I had wrapped with his surprise. He was sooooo excited!! He really had no idea he was getting this for his birthday, since we are on such a restricted budget. Yay! I love surprises. The rest of the night was a picnic at the park, local coffee, and the movie Soloist at the Kentucky Theatre. The date was much needed and refreshing!

Now on to celebrate more of him….today, tomorrow, and forever!

Love the plan to surprise him, but he knew-I know a guy just like that. I have enjoyed reading through your blogs. What a precious (not to mention adorable!) woman you are!! I am so proud of you!
