Cake Decorating

Hey There, So I decided that I wanted to learn how to decorate cakes. My friend Melissa and I took a Wilton Class at Michaels. I absolutely loved it! I learned a lot more than expected and I am hoping to take the next two courses!

Going Green!

Oh how I love my days off of work. It is a great time for me to get the house cleaned, laundry done, and extra time with Justin :) This week our Church is hosting an event called LexReach. LexReach is a part of Icthus where youth groups from different states come in early before the Festival and do service projects around Lexington. This year about 100 kids are staying at our church. The theme is Creation Care. Author of Serve God, Save the Planet, Matthew Sleeth and his family are the speakers and Justin is leading worship. I'm so excited the emphasis is on environmentalism. Over the past year God has been leading Justin and I to take steps in our lives to protect the Earth in whatever way we can. Both of us read Matthew Sleeth's book and were very encouraged to know we could do this. We now recycle anything we possibly can, take our own bags grocery shopping instead of using the plastic bags, and carpool to work. We are still learning ways to conserve energy and take care of the Earth. We are not perfect at it, but we are at least trying. :)

Hello to all who read! Justin and I celebrated our two year anniversary yesterday! It has been a wonderful two years. I believe we have established a tradition in our anniversaries; going to the zoo! Our 1 year anniversary we went to the L-ville Zoo and this year we went to the Cinci Zoo. It is aways fun visiting the zoo! Marriage is such a blessing to be a part of. It is humbling, self sacrificing, loving, persevering, and challenging. Each day I spend with Justin I learn so much more about myself. Right before Justin and I married this scripture I studied over and over again. It is a clear picture of how a man and woman should treat each other, and also a beautiful picture as a bride of Christ. Still today I am reminded of this scripture and truly hope that my life is a life of Christ and therefore an overflow of that will present a love and respect for my husband!

22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."[c] 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
